Jackson Murphy got an early start reviewing films. He attended his first movie (Disney's "Mulan") a month before he was born, and legend has it he kicked his mother during the funny parts. Going to the movies quickly became his passion.
Jackson began his career as a movie critic in January 2006, at the age of 7 1/2, doing reviews for an Albany, NY radio station. He expanded to TV in 2009. Currently his reviews are seen each week in over one million homes on Time Warner's YNN Network of 24-hour news stations throughout Upstate NY and Western New England. He also writes a weekend reviews column for The Record (Troy, NY) newspaper and his monthly DVD reviews column appears in Berkshire (Mass.) Family Magazine.
Jackson has appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "Weekend Today, "The Nate Berkus Show", "Fox and Friends", "The Early Show" and "Live with Regis and Kelly". LCJ has also become a favorite "Down Under" as the regular film critic on "The Morning Show", Australia's #1 daily chat program. He has met and interviewed numerous film stars and celebrities, including Goldie Hawn, Regis Philbin, Barbara Walters, Larry the Cable Guy, Tim Conway and Jimmy Fallon, and he's been the subject of TV, newspaper, magazine and on-line articles and stories in the U.S., as well as Germany, England, Brazil and New Zealand
Jackson is a 4-time NY Emmy nominee and in 2010 he became the youngest person ever to win a NY Emmy Award, for his movie reviews segments on YNN.
When he's not watching and reviewing movies or interviewing celebrities Jackson attends school, enjoys writing and cartooning, playing tennis and watching TV. He takes much pride in the fact that he's seen every episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.
